The Richard Danik Memorial Fund

These shooting items all belonged to Richard (Dick) Danik who died last year. Dick was an enthusiastic 300m shooter and his family have donated all of his rifles, pistols and equipment to the Richard Danik Memorial Fund.

The fund will be used to set up a 300m competition with a trophy and medals to be held at Bisley once every year. The anticipated time will be in September when we host a shoot between GB and a team from Clermont/Creil, France.

Other monies from the Fund will be used to upgrade the Bisley 300m range to include some electronic targets. How many we don’t yet know, it depends on how generous you are when bidding for the equipment or just donating money for the range upgrade.

Many of you know that the Bisley range is very basic compared to the facilities available throughout 300m shooting in Europe. We cannot hope to match those facilities without a massive input of funds but we will all pull together and hope to improve the range in the next few months.

The Fund has also received a donation of equipment from Barry Nightingale, a close friend of Dick.

On behalf of  GB 300m shooting and the Memorial fund I would like to thank Dick’s family in Finland who very kindly made all this possible with their generosity.

Remember Dick, a gentle man who is greatly missed by his friends and family.
