Europa Cup - Tolmezzo, Italy

3rd-8th May 2004

The first Europa 300m Cup event of 2004 was held in Italy at the Tolmezzo Shooting ranges

The GB team managed to get all three shooters through to the prone final.

Simon Aldhouse 2nd in elimination 1 with a 598 and Austin Reeve 588, in eliminator 2 Graham Hawarth took 7th place with 593

The final gave Ian Shirra-Gibb a near heart attack as Simon Aldhouse cleaned the last string to take the gold medal with another 598 on count back from home shooter Roberto Facheris.

This is the first men's Individual medal by a British shooter since the early 90's and the first gold since the Europa Cup series started.

The ladies prone event was won with a world record beating 598 by Harriet Holzberger from Germany with her team mate Susanne Hilger taking the Silver
